Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Boyd! Ashley and Jonathan tied the knot at The Barn at Shady Lane, on a rainy Saturday, in February. Let’s talk about 2 things: Mississippi State and the Bride’s Cake.
Jonathan is one of the biggest Mississippi State fans I have ever seen. I can’t help but think that was Ashley’s way of letting Jonathan incorporate his personal style into the day of the wedding. From the maroon tux and monogrammed cuff links to the customized cowbells that sat by the cake. Now let’s talk about the cake. The honorary and probably favorite guest in attendance was their sweet dog, Gryff. Gryff was included several times throughout the day and even had his big moment with the cake. Pen and Pastry did an incredible job including him in the cake and I think it was the most clever thing I have seen!
It was so fun working alongside Ashley to plan the perfect timeline for their special day. Ashley and Jonathan are such a fun couple and that was reflected throughout their rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and their reception, and Ashley’s wardrobe change during the reception (scroll to see the shoes, you won’t be disappointed). Despite what the weather threw at them, their send-off is my favorite I have seen. I will definitely be saving the cold sparks send off for my own wedding one day!
